"Sugury Doesn't Stop Runner"

The following article was published in The Tennessean the week after I ran the big race.

Marc Krejci of Spring Hill had his appendix removed two weeks before the Boston Marathon, but didn't let that stop him from competing in the famed event Monday.

"What hurt most was the training I missed," Krejci said. "My legs were really hurting. But I heard stories about people running after heart transplants so I have nothing to whine about."

Krejci, 25, recorded a time of 3 hours, 48 minutes, 35 seconds, which made him 10,715th out of 22,000 runners. He placed 7,690th among males and 3,110th in his age group.
